After School Programs
Chair : Lauren Evans
A variety of programs are offered to students after school. There will be three sessions: Fall, Winter and Spring. Programs will last 4-6 weeks a session. After school opportunities will be posted on the membership toolkit website and sent via Friday Flash as they occur.* This committee chair is responsible for securing space in the school, sending out reminders via emails and Friday Flash, providing a list of students participating to the teachers and office.
Assemblies
Chair: Laura Kridler
Opportunities for students to supplement/enhance their learning experiences through diverse offerings throughout the year. The PTO sponsors school wide and grade level assemblies.
Birthday Bulletin Board
Chair: Lindsay Schanbacher
We will celebrate each child throughout the school year by displaying their name and birthday on a bulletin board by the cafeteria.
Book Fair
Chairs: Ashley Fortier and Nicole Cable
Book fairs are offered twice a year for students and families to browse and purchase books at school. Volunteers are needed for set-up, shopping, and tear down.
Directory
Chair: Kim Gregorio
Our directory is accessible through the Eden Hall Upper Elementary PTO Membership Toolkit website and the Membership Toolkit app. Families at Eden Hall Upper Elementary must sign up for an account to be included in the directory and access the directory. This committee will reach out to families not signed up for Membership Toolkit to help them get access.
Field Day
Chair: Jenelle Witt
The PTO supports these fun days planned by the P.E. teacher by organizing volunteers.
Flower Sale
Chair : Kristen Walch
There are two flower sales offered during the school year (Fall and Spring). This committee is responsible for placing flyers in teacher mailboxes, collecting turned in orders, announcing dates via emails and the Friday Flash, being available to unload the truck and distribute flowers. This chair will work closely with the Richland chair. Delivery date is October 3rd 2025.
Gift of Time Fundraiser
Chair: Kiley Woodburn and Nikki Manilla
This is one of Eden Hall's biggest fundraisers and takes place in the fall. Teachers and staff donate their time to offer different experiences such as extra gym time, a kickball game, principal for a day, reading the end of day announcements for a week, etc. Students may buy tickets and winners will be announced.
Holiday Luncheon
Chair: Lauren Oeler
Plan and execute a holiday luncheon in December for all the staff.
Holiday Shop
Chair: Ashley Fortier, Gabriela Martinez and Linda Courson
A fun in-school experience for students to go shopping for their loved ones in December. This committee purchases all items and then organizes the Holiday Shop Week.
Homeroom Parent Coordinator
4th Grade Chair-Kristen Walch
5th Grade Chair-Vilmarie Estrella
6th Grade Chair-Stephanie Willis
Homeroom Coordinator is responsible for grade level party signs ups, Homeroom parent sign ups, making sure all party spots are filled and reaching out to classrooms who still need volunteers and being available to check in parents for each party. They will also send forms out to Homeroom parents instructing them on classroom collections for holiday and end of year teacher gifts.
Kids of Steel
Chair:Kelly Kennedy
This is a fun and interactive way to get kids and families prepared for the Chick-fil-A Pittsburgh Kids' Marathon. Participants will meet one a week for 5 weeks at the end of March and April. *This will be an after school program. Look for sign ups in the Friday Flash mid February 2026.
Restaurant Night Coordinator:
Chair : Rachael Reif
Family nights at a local restaurant that participate in a cash-back fundraiser program. Some places that have participated in the past, The Gyro Shop, Bruster’s, Di Bella's Subs. Read the Friday Flash for upcoming events and refer to the membership toolkit website.
Spirit Wear
Chair: Ashley Fortier and Deanna Churilla
Check out brand new gear that will be for sale at Find Your Classroom day, Open House and Meet the Teacher nights. Spirit wear will be offered for sale online throughout the year. We offer a limited inventory year-round via our website that can be picked up or sent home with student. This committee orders items from a board approved vendor and comes up with new items each school year. *You must be available for our pop up events mentioned above.
Staff Lounge
Chairs: Deanna Churilla
This committee keeps the staff lounge stocked on a regular basis with coffee, creamer, snacks, and utensils. Wish lists are available to view on the main PTO page. This committee will also provide staff monthly treats in September, October, January, March and April.
Staff Appreciation Week
Chairs: Deanna Churilla and Denise Martin
Staff Appreciation Week is typically held the first week in May. All staff are treated to a meal and several other treats throughout the week. Donations are collected in the month of April on Membership Toolkit and are communicated through the Friday Flash.
Sixth Grade Celebration
Chair: Amy McKay and Tanecia Redlinger
This will be a PTO sponsored celebration for all 6th graders held at the end of the year during school hours. A committee meets throughout the year to plan activities and execute the event.
This event will require lots of volunteers!! *This will be available April 2026
Sixth Grade Dance
Chair: Amy McKay
This PTO sponsored event will be held after school hours for sixth graders only at the end of January.
Science Olympiad
Chairs: Teacher Ran
All fourth graders participate in the Science Olympiad. They start off with a kick off assembly in March. In April, the students compete in problem-solving and critical thinking skill challenges with the help of parent volunteers.
Staff Lunch - November
Chairs: Alison Wright
This Thankful, Grateful, Blessed Luncheon is held in November. Chairs will organize families to make and drop off soups for staff to enjoy.
Staff Welcome Back Lunch - August
Chairs: PTO Board
All staff are provided lunch during in-service before school starts as a kick of to the new school year.
Summer Reading Program
Chair: Ashley Fortier
The PTO will provide a fun during school activity for those who turn in their reading passports. More info to come!
Third Grade Move Up Night
Chairs: Nicole Beynon and Jennifer Kuna
All third graders and their families from the three elementary schools are welcomed to Eden Hall. *This committee chair is responsible for securing food trucks and a DJ for the night. They also need to be able to attend Move up Night and hand out welcome packets to those attending. Move up night is May 19th 2026.
Valentine's Day Cookies for Teachers
Chair: Lauren Oeler, Alli Wright, and Jayme Gornick
The committee chairs organize the collection of cookies that will be given to teachers for Valentine's Day.
World Culture Day
Chair :Shweta Chakradeo, Anne Plate, and Esme Stasa
This day is for the whole school to hear presentations on the different countries and learn about their cultures. There is a culture-themed assembly along with the presentation. This committee works with the world culture teacher to get flags hung and organize the day. They also help with ordering breakfast for volunteers the day of, using funds collected from families.
Yearbook
Chair: Seana Schanken
Pictures are collected throughout the year and compiled into a yearbook that is available for purchase.
Z-Roni Fundraiser
Chair: Kristen Walch
This fundraiser takes place in October. You can purchase the frozen peperoni bread and have it sent home with your student or pick it up at the school.
End of Year Picnic
Chair : Nicole Ross
This is a PTO sponsored event that occurs in May. This committee arranges for a DJ to come, orders sorbet from the cafeteria and organizes volunteers on MTK. *You must be available during all lunches on May 8th, 2026
Garden and Beautification
Chair: Seana Schanken
This committee chair will work closely with Mrs. Berezo and assist with germinating plants using a sunlight in the school. They will also help with planting flowers on outside of the building to make our school more welcoming.
